Disabled Man's Tricycle stolen from Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — A Warwick woman and her disabled son are appealing for help after his special adult-sized tricycle was stolen from their yard.

WPRI-TV reports that 30-year-old Stephen DeSisto has Down syndrome and uses the tricycle to get around.

His mother, Sandra, says the bike disappeared from their backyard on Monday morning.

She says the tricycle was a Christmas gift a few years ago and she can't afford to buy him a new one because she is on disability after surviving a fire. She is hoping the police will be able to find it.

Stephen tells the station the bike was his only freedom and form of independence.
