Family Plans Vigil for Slain Warwick Postal Worker

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) _ The family of a retired postal worker found slain along a bicycle path in Warwick has planned a vigil to draw attention to the unsolved crime.

The vigil in memory of 66-year-old John "Jack'' Fay is scheduled Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Warwick City Park, where his body was discovered in May in a trash barrel covered with brush.

Meaghan Fay tells the Providence Journal her father had been jogging in that park for 30 years, but switched his runs from afternoons to early mornings after he retired.

The body was found May 18. Authorities say Fay died of blunt force trauma and put up a fight before he died.
