PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island's state run health insurance marketplace has gotten permission to seek new office space for up to 50 workers.
The Providence Journal reports the State Properties Committee voted Tuesday to allow HealthSource RI to get bid proposals for a 15,000-square-foot space in Providence.
Chief financial and administrative officer Meetesh Kumar told the committee the agency wants to move into the new space as soon as possible.
The nine full-time employees at HealthSource RI are currently split between the Statehouse and the Department of Administration building. The Journal reports Kumar said it's hard to function without having everyone in one location. The new office would house current employees and private contractors and be able to accommodate visitors.
