PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A flood warning remains in effect for the Pawtuxet River and areas along the Pawcatuck River, and another one to three inches of rain could fall in Rhode Island.
The National Weather Service says some areas of Providence and Kent counties along the Pawtuxet have experienced minor flooding. The river was at 10.2 feet early Thursday and falling, but it was expected to stay above flood stage of nine feet. Water levels were expected to continue rising on Friday.
A flood warning in effect for western Washington County has also been extended. The weather service says some homes in low-lying areas of Westerly and Hopkinton are expected to see flooding.
A flood watch is in effect for the majority of southern New England.
