Motorcycle Rider Dies After Collision in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) _ A 25-year-old Warwick man has died after his motorcycle collided with a truck.

Warwick police say the accident took place shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday. A preliminary investigation shows the motorcycle was traveling west on Main Avenue. It collided with a truck that was leaving a gas station and attempting to cross over Main onto Covington Drive.

The motorcycle rider was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he later died. Police do not believe he was wearing a helmet. His name has not been released pending family notification.

The driver of the truck, 58-year-old Sal Biscardi of Warwick, was not injured.

Police say it doesn't appear that speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
