PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A 17-year-old from Providence will be tried as an adult on a murder charge in the Christmas Eve shooting of a man outside a Patucket apartment.

The Providence Journal reports Jose Lopez has been ordered held without bail and transferred from the state Training School the Adult Correctional Institutions.

Lopez is the third person charged with murder and conspiracy in the shooting of 21-year-old Ryan Almeida.

Twenty-one-year-old Tyron Wilcox and 20-year-old Daquan Watts were arrested last month.

Police say Almeida was gunned down at the Galego Court housing project in retaliation for an earlier shooting.

They allege Lopez drove the car to the scene, while Wilcox and Watts fired the fatal shots.
