NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) _ A panel of Rhode Island state lawmakers is planning to visit Quonset Point and get an update on a renewable energy project slated for the business park.
The House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources is scheduled to convene Tuesday afternoon at the office of the Quonset Development Corp.
They are set to receive a presentation from NEO Energy Corp. on its plans to build a bio-energy facility at the business park.
The lawmakers will then receive an update on Quonset's redevelopment efforts and participate in a tour of the area.
The business park at Quonset Point is home to more than 175 companies employing 9,500 people.
