Woman Struck, Killed Walking on I-95 in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — A woman has been struck and killed while walking on Interstate 95 in Pawtucket.

State Police say it happened around 2 a.m. Thursday.

They say the woman was walking on I-95 southbound near the Broadway exit when she was hit by a car.

The woman was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and pronounced dead.

The woman's name has not been released. Police say they don't know why she was walking on the highway.

The driver of the car that hit her is not being charged.
