(Dallas, TX) -- The "Dallas Morning News" reports NFL broadcast legend Pat Summerall is dead at the age of 82. He worked for CBS from the early 60s through the early 90s before moving over to Fox. Summerall worked with fellow TV football legend John Madden for over two decades. He played college ball at the University of Arkansas before moving on to play in the National Football League in Detroit, Chicago and New York with the Giants.
During his broadcast career, Summerall worked more than a dozen Super Bowls. He officially retired from the booth in 2002, but returned in 2006 to work sporadically through 2011. Summerall also handled broadcast duties for The Masters, NBA Finals and tennis' U.S. Open.
